We are looking for strong science fiction and fantasy novels and novellas.  We want character- and action-driven stories that reach out and grab the reader, taking them deep into the characters’ world.  We’re looking for the kind of book that a reader picks up, intending to read a single chapter, only to look up in the wee hours of the morning to find themselves completely immersed in the story. 

Poetry

We’re looking for unique poetry collections, either chapbook- or book-length, with a strong voice, the kind that leaps off the page and grabs the reader’s attention.  We want poetry with a strong sense of place, a prairie perspective, and/or a focus on family.  Poems should have a strong sense of rhythm that harkens back to oral traditions. 

Your manuscript may contain profanity, so long as it's not every second word, and/or sex, so long as it's not gratuitious.  

General Guidelines

Please send us your complete manuscript, along with a cover letter.  Your name, address, phone number, and email address should be in the top right-hand corner of the first page of your manuscript, followed by the number of words in your manuscript.  

What we don't want:

• Simultaneous submissions
• Previously published work
• "Samples" requiring us to request the full text
• Work that hasn't been adequately edited
• Erotica, the grotesque, and/or excessive gore
• Misogyny, in any form
